Popular restaurant listed in guide

A restaurant has received a top culinary accolade – an entry in the Waitrose Good Food Guide 2015, the fifth year in a row it has been featured.

Abarbistro in White Hart Road, Old Portsmouth, which focuses on modern British food, has maintained its place in the guide’s 2015 edition.

Owner Karen Moore, who runs the New England-style restaurant with her husband David, said: ‘We are so pleased to have been recommended and featured in yet another edition.’

Abarbistro, which employs 50 people, is recognised in the guide in the ‘Local Gem’ category and is described as providing a ‘bright, breezy dining option within striking distance of Gunwharf Quays’.

‘You can’t pay to get in the Good Food Guide,’ says Mrs Moore. Restaurants are chosen purely on merit so we are thrilled to have been recognised again.

‘Abarbistro is very much a team effort so this recognition is a great tribute to everyone who works here.’

Karen and David believe hard work and investing in their business and staff is the key to their success.

‘We believe it is important to invest in our business and train our staff well,’ she said.

‘We are constantly driving and educating, informing and working to improve what we do.’
