Organiser Paul Reed said: “Last year we tried an Abba tribute band at the Chobham club – a totally new venue – which was a great success and attracted a different crowd, much more of a mix so we thought we’d try something similar this year.”
Tickets have already sold out for a number of the fortnight-long festival’s concerts, starting on Saturday, September 27, and running until Sunday, October 5. Sold-out events include the Sussex Jazz Kings concert on Friday and the ChobLit event, which hosts a different novelist each year.
This year the event has attracted up-and-coming author Evie Wyld, shortlisted for the Orange prize and listed by The Daily Telegraph as one of the best 20 novelists of 2013 under 40.
Evie has been described by the organisers as a “big coup” for the festival.
Mr Reed said: “Overall, tickets have gone very well this year. We’re really looking forward to another highly successful festival. We have a great team of helpers who have been preparing for it for nearly a year now.”
One of the highlights of the festival will be the church concerts, with Mozart, Mendelssohn and Haydn on Saturday, October 4, and Vivaldi’s Four Seasons and Bach on Tuesday, September 30.
Also part of the festival is the School’s Prom on the Friday, October 3, where four local schools present their orchestras.
Performing this year will be young musicians from St Lawrence School, Valley End School, Coworth Flexlands School and Gordon’s School.

WIN NATURO DOG FOOD PACKS WORTH £50
As TV chefs such as Jamie Oliver and Nigel Slater increase our awareness of where our food comes from, many of us are becoming more conscious about using natural ingredients in our food and knowing how our meals have been made. Progressively we are passing our concerns onto our canine’s dinners as well. A healthy diet is just as important for our canines as it is for us with balanced nutrition leading to a healthy and happy dog.
