Hinckley’s Hollycroft Park is up against some of the top parks in the country in a competition to find our favourite park of the year.
Hollycroft Park is listed in the online People’s Choice Award, which gives the public the power to decide which one of the 1,482 Green Flag Award sites should be named Park of the Year.
Hollycroft Park is a 1930s Park which has retained many of its original features. The bandstand hosts a number of events throughout the year and the park offers a number of other facilities including tennis courts, pitch and putt and a bowling green. The park is also maintained as a site of horticultural excellence, with a number of different habitats including wildflower areas, as well as the more traditional bedding plant areas.

Voting only takes one quick click and it’s free.
Councillor Bill Crooks (Lib Dem, Barlestone, Nailstone Osbaston) said: “Hollycroft is a popular and beautiful park that has been well visited and used by people from within and outside the borough for many years. I hope as many people as possible are able to vote and help to give the park the recognition it deserves.”
Sue Neale from the Friends of Hollycroft Park added: “The more votes we get the better our chance so vote now and get your friends and family to vote as well.”
The vote will close at noon on September 30 and the winner of the 2014 People’s Choice will be announced on October 16.
