The four-year-old was sent off at 20/1 but belied those odds with a dominant front-running display under Dane O’Neill despite being only rated 89 after winning a Newmarket handicap earlier in the month.

Sent straight to the lead as soon as the gates opened, her rivals couldn’t get near the daughter of Sir Percy and she recorded her fourth career success by two-and-a-quarter lengths.

Gifted Girl, meanwhile, was in all sorts of trouble attempting to get up the inside and while she eventually found daylight, she could not bridge the gap.

“She’s not bad for a seven grand breeze-up horse,” said Candy.

“She has the most amazing stride on her, she covers so much ground.

“I’d be in no rush to run her again, maybe once more if she begs for it, otherwise I’d have thought the December sales would be the next call.”

O’Neill told Racing UK: “She’s a better filly when she’s up front, she just does enough and she’s an ideal front-running ride. She’s nothing if not resolute and genuine but she’s improved and it’s nice to get her some black type.”
