McIlroy listed as early favorite for 2015 Masters

With the PGA Championship now in the books, golf fans must wait 240 more days until the next men’s major championship. Based on how the last few weeks have gone, the name topping the list of favorites for the 2015 Masters should come as no surprise.

Rory McIlroy was installed as a 5/1 favorite to win next spring at Augusta National by Jeff Sherman, golf oddsmaker at the LVH Superbook in Las Vegas, Nev. McIlroy captured the PGA by one shot over Phil Mickelson Sunday at Valhalla, and will head down Magnolia Lane next April in search of his third straight major and the final leg of the career grand slam.

Tiger Woods was listed as the next highest favorite, with 12/1 odds. Woods has four Masters titles to his credit, with the most recent coming in 2005 when he defeated Chris DiMarco in a sudden-death playoff.

Adam Scott and Phil Mickelson, whose four combined green jackets match Woods’ total, are both listed at 15/1 odds, followed by Bubba Watson, Rickie Fowler, Jason Day and Jordan Spieth, each at 20/1.
