New Assassin’s Creed: Rogue game listed on Swiss retail site

Ubisoft’s Assassin’s Creed Unity launches in October, but an online retailer has listed another new AC game for PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360.

Assassin’s Creed Unity, the latest title in the Assassin’s Creed game series, is due for a 28th October release, and you’d think that’s enough to satiate your stealth killing desires. However, a Swiss retailer called World of Games has listed a new game from Ubisoft called ‘Assassin’s Creed: Rogue’, for PS3 and Xbox 360, as reported by GameSpot.

The listing appears to show that the game will be on sale from 28th October, the same day that the current gen game, Unity, is released. That’s pretty much all that was listed on the site, with no box art displayed. The listing has since been pulled.

When Assassin’s Creed Unity was announced in March, there were rumours that the last gen consoles would also receive a new AC game, which would be set in North America and cast you as Shay, a Templar. With the Templars being the enemy of the Assassins throughout the series it would be a nice twist to be able to play as one, and see everything from a different perspective. But, as the ‘Rogue’ title suggests, perhaps Shay is a Templar who betrays the order?

My first thought went to the newly-revealed Elise, in the latest fully-CG trailer for Unity. She’s a Templar who appears to have a close relationship with Arno, the protagonist in Assassin’s Creed Unity, so perhaps AC: Rogue could bridge a gap between the games there? Anyway, we expect Ubisoft will reveal more details because of this leak, or even wait until gamescom – we’ll bring you any further updates as and when they happen.
