The trial of the Inishowen man charged with dangerous driving causing the death of eight others has been listed for next Tuesday.
Shaun Kelly, Hill Road, Ballymagan, Buncrana appeared at Letterkenny Circuit Court on Tuesday.
Prosecuting barrister Patricia McLaughlin told Judge Matthew F. Deery that a jury will be required in the case and asked it be listed for next Tuesday for trial. She also asked for a German interpreter to attend on Wednesday.
Defence barrister Mr Peter Nolan told Judge Deery there was a “possibility” the trial may go into “a second week.”
Kelly’s charge relates to a road traffic collision which occured between Buncrana and Clonmany on July 11th, 2010. The men who died were Hugh Friel (66), Paul Doherty (19), Eamon McDaid (22), Mark McLaughlin, (21), PJ McLaughlin (21), James McEleney (23) Damien McLaughlin (21), and Ciaran Sweeney (19.
