This summer the Albert Wisner Public Library is offering an exciting round of programs for adults. Join us at the Library for movies, a summer concert series, career services, crafts and much more. Listed here are the events for adults and families scheduled for the month of July. Registration is requested for attendance except where noted. Registration and additional August program information are available on the line at www.albertwisnerlibrary.org or by calling 986-1047 ext 3.

Monday afternoon at the movies
Every Monday at 1 p.m.

Visit the Library’s website (www.albertwiwnerlibrary.org) for a complete listing of all films scheduled for the summer.

On the third Monday of the month, the film will be followed by a discussion led by Mary Krauze. Refreshments will be served.

Literary Elements- Bookshelf Bingo

Read and play Bingo for prizes this summer.

Through Aug. 30
Pick up your bingo card at the Help Desk and receive a prize just for registering.

Bring your card to the Help Desk to claim a prize and enter the Grand Prize drawing.

You may have multiple entries.
Grand prize: $50 Warwick Merchant’s Guild Gift Certificate

Fri. July 18 at 7 p.m. “Mostly Motown”

Join Rhonda Denet and The Silver Fox Trio for a free outdoor concert featuring your favorites from the “Motown” era.

Sun. Aug. 17 “ Brazilian Capoeira”

With Amarildo Santos Costa and Company

An outdoor performance featuring traditional Brazilian music and drumming. This is an interactive program for all ages!

CTAP – Career Transition Assistance Program

Targeted to the needs of job seekers facilitated by Gregg Knowles, career consultant.

AARP defensive driving class
July 19 and Sept 20, 9:30 a.m. to 4 p.m.

Tune up your driving skills, update your knowledge of the rules of the road and learn defensive driving techniques. Upon completion of the course, you will qualify for an automobile insurance discount given by your insurance company.

Korean lotus flower lantern workshop

July 20, 1 to 3 p.m. (adults and teens)

The Members of Korean Spirit and Culture Promotion Project will help you make a lovely lotus flower lantern using colorful paper and wire frames.

Registration in person only with a $5 non-refundable materials fee

Black Bears In Our Community
July 24, 6:30 p.m.

Black bears can be awesome and intimidating when observed wandering through a backyard. Nature educator Russell Brust will introduce you to the black bears that live in the forests in our community. Learn about aversive training for dealing with black bears.

Science Fun Fair For Everyone
“Don’t be bored, make something!”

July 25, 6:30 p.m.
What’s a zoetrope? Learn what it is and how to make it and other useful and interesting scientific projects from recycled materials. Bring the family for an evening of wide-ranging hands-on science activities.
