Just about to hit the market: this matching pair of houses in Mt. Washington designed by Simon Storey. The New Zealand-born architect—known for his tall-and-narrow Echo Park live-work space, Eel’s Nest—partnered with his sister, Anna Gregory, on the two lookalike residences, which have been accordingly dubbed “Brother and Sister.” Per the listing, one of the houses is “slightly larger” than the other, but both of the cedar-clad residences feature two bedrooms and two baths, white oak floors and cabinetry, Carrera marble countertops, bay windows, cast-in-place concrete walls in the master bedrooms, covered outdoor patios, central heat and air, tankless water heaters, and recessed speaker systems. “Environmentally-conscious elements include finish products of ultra low VOC, aluminum windows and dual glazing on all glass surfaces.” Asking price for the larger of the two is $699,000, while its sibling is listed at $689,000.
