Police Commissioner to use summer events to learn of issues of concern in …

Police and Crime Commissioner Shaun Wright aims to find out about issues of concern to local residents at a series of summer galas and fetes members of his staff are set to attend.

The Commissioner’s roadshow was taken to the Barnsley Mayor’s Parade and on Saturday, June 28 as well as Sheffield Pride.

Residents spoken to at both events listed drugs as their main concern.

Commissioner Wright said: “The results will form an important part of my Police and Crime Plan and will support my vision of making South Yorkshire the safest place to live

learn, work and run businesses.

“I want as many people as possible to let me know what issues are important to them and help me to set my priorities in line with what the public of South Yorkshire want.”

The Commissioner’s roadshow will be taken to Rotherham Pride at Clifton Park on July 12; an emergency services fun day at Niagara, Wadsley Bridge; the Low Edges Festival in Greenhill Park on August 10; Doncaster Pride on August 16 and Rotherham Show in Clifton Park on September 6 and 7.
