There is fresh hope that action may be taken to preserve the Grade II-listed Nocton Hall following a devastating fire at the site 10 years ago.
The hall’s owners Leda Properties have met with North Kesteven District Council (NKDC) and Nocton Parish Council over the future of the former RAF hospital.
Coun Mike Gallagher, NKDC executive member for planning, described the move as ‘encouraging’.
He added the firm was ‘well aware’ of the requirements of the council and English Heritage regarding development on the site through its so-called ‘agreed options appraisal’. These allow for limited development in support of preservation and maintenance of the hall in its ruined state with public access and allied community facilities.
Ian Goldsworthy, vice-chairman of Nocton Parish Council, said: “If [Leda Properties] can come up with something along those lines, it is likely to find the support of the community.”
Nick Hardcastle, director of Leda Properties, said there was ‘a will there on all parties’ to find a solution.
