It’s one of those end of the year pranks that might make even some of the most “evil geniuses” blush.
Seniors from Henry Wise Wood High School have posted their building for sale on Kijiji.
The description reads like a developer’s dream, “120 classrooms, 3 gyms, large field and many multi-purpose spaces, this would be the perfect location for a number of projects.”
The covert author of the posting then goes on the write the desks, chairs and tables will all be left behind.
In a bid to push interest, it ends with a plea: “Please contact us soon, because if the school is not sold by July, it will be given back to the City of Calgary to be re-conditioned as a government building of some sort.”
As of Friday morning it already had 300 views.
Assistant principal Tony Barile laughed and appeared to be impressed by some of the “budding realtors” he has in his ranks.
“It’s always great when Grade 12s have a fun prank at the end of the year,” he says.
No one was hurt and nothing was damaged.
The posting lists the school’s office number and so far Barile says they haven’t seen any serious offers.
He admits it’s a first for him and “tips his hat” to the kids calling it nothing more than “good fun.”
The assistant principal adds the building is not for sale and it is open. In fact, the last day of school is not until June 27th.
The guilty party so far has yet to come forward.
