Fire crews were called to the B-listed building on Monday night
A deliberate fire has damaged a derelict B-listed former hotel at Glasgow Green near Bridgeton.
The blaze broke out at the Inn on the Green building, on Greenhead Street, just after 21:00 on Monday.
The fire service said the blaze was started deliberately
Fire crews extinguished the blaze and stayed on the scene until the early hours of Tuesday morning. No-one was reported to have been injured
The building, which dates from about 1840, is on Scotland’s buildings at risk register.
A spokesman for the Scottish Fire and Rescue Service said crews were deployed to the four-storey building at 21:18 after fire broke out in the roof space.
Police Scotland evacuated a neighbouring five-storey block of flats as a precaution, he said.
The blaze was brought under control by 22:44 and the last appliance left the scene at 03:12.
The fire service spokesman said the blaze had been started deliberately and the roof had collapsed onto the top floor of the B-listed building.
The fire spread along the roof section of the old hotel building
