FREELAND, Mich. (WNEM) — A Mid-Michigan building posted on Craigslist advertises 24 rooms, 11 bathrooms, laundry and a full gym.
The only problem about the listing is it’s Freeland High School and it’s not actually for sale.
“I think that’s hilarious. Who is going to believe something like that,” Barbara Leppien said. “That’s just unbelievable. I want to know who the creative little person is that did that.”
According to the ad, the high school is a nice piece of property. Some of the top features include 24 rooms, 11 bathrooms and a gourmet kitchen. They’ll even throw in a state of the art football stadium. Some are wondering what something like that would go for.
“I don’t know. I would be interested to see what the price would be on that,” said Zach Johnson, 2011 graduate of the school.
He said he first saw the posting on Facebook a few days ago.
“First I thought it was kind of dumb, but then I saw a couple of Craigslist ads for it and it’s actually kind of funny,” Johnson said.
He said senior pranks, like this one, are pretty common. He remembers one in particular in biology class.
“They were doing dissecting cats and they put a live cat in the box, didn’t realize it and he freaked out when it jumped out at him,” Johnson said.
Leppien worked in the Birch Run school district for 23 years. She said she wished students were just as creative in the classroom as they were in creating the ad.
“They get very creative, except when it comes to grades,” Leppien said.
The superintendent said the ad is some sort of prank and they are not taking this seriously.
