Shop allowed to erect advertising boards on listed building

A HIGH Street clothes store has been told it can put up advertising signs on the outside of its 200-plus year old listed building for the first time.

Jack Wills, which operates out of the White House on Marlow High Street, asked Wycombe District Council for permission to erect a sign on the wall and erect lettering over the door.

Up to now, the Grade II listed building, which received the status in 1949, has remained plain with no branding to the outside.

The three-storey White House, which was built in the late 18th century, has been home to the upmarket youth fashion chain since 2007.

English Heritage, which appoints and oversees listed buildings, registered no objection to the advertising
