No parliamentary business on the agenda as Victoria Day recess gets underway

With the House shuttered for the week-long Victoria Day constituency break,
there are no major — or, for that matter, minor — events currently
listed on the Parliament Hill agenda.

Even the out-of-town political circuit appears to be operating at a lower
capacity than normal, although that may change as the week unfolds.

Out and about on the good news hustings today:

    • Aboriginal Affairs Minister Bernard Valcourt will be front
and centre at the “grand reopening” of an Edmunston theatre before heading to
Campbellton to hand out fresh federal support during a stop at the local
      library.
    • Meanwhile, in Riverview, Minister of State for ACOA Rob
      Moore
takes part in what is being billed as an “important
      infrastructure event.”
    • In Quebec City, Finance Minister Joe Oliver drops in on his
newly minted provincial counterpart, while elsewhere in the province,
Treasury Board President Tony Clement makes back-to-back
funding announcements in Lachute and Gatineau, with Infrastructure
      Minister Denis Lebel
scheduled to do much the same thing in Baie-Comeau
      and Cap-aux-Meules.
    • Finally, in Winnipeg, Minister of State for Western Economic
      Diversification Michelle Rempel
pays a visit to Magellan Aerospace,
where she’ll unload a fresh installment of cash earmarked for “a new facility
[to] increase skills development and technology commercialization.”
