The full three-day schedule of events is listed below, but it’s not only the
main stage that sees all the action. Sadler’s Wells’ foyer is transformed
with live DJs, freestyle dance session, graffiti exhibitions and workshops.
One of the most notable aspects of the Convention is the sense of a core
community whose affection for the genre is infectious. If you fancy trying
out a bit of street dance, now’s your chance.
And for the first time, the festival will go on a nationwide tour. In May and
June, there are visits to Doncaster, Kings Lynn, Inverness, Birmingham,
Whitley Bay, Brighton, Bristol, Blackpool and Bournemouth.
If you can’t make it to any of those events then this year also sees a new
feature through the launch of BCTV, an online video channel to capture the
full range of Breakin’ Convention’s work and its artists. It offers talented
emerging film-makers the chance to gain training and mentorship and to
create original content for the channel. Take a look at the video at the top
of this article to find out more.
