Report: Barnstormer banquet hall in Green Oak Township listed for sale

The five-acre, 25,000-square-foot Barnstormer Entertainment Complex near Whitmore Lake is listed for sale, the Livingston Daily reported.

The facility at 9411 E. M-36 in Greek Oak Township was in foreclosure for nonpayment of taxes earlier this year, but the owner avoided a tax auction by paying roughly $30,000 in owed real-property taxes, the newspaper reported.

The Barnstormer complex in Green Oak Township is listed for sale.

Now, general manager Rob Cortis said he hopes to sell the property, lease the facility to a new tenant or jointly operate the complex as a banquet hall under a new business partnership.

The asking price for the property was not available.

Barnstormer used to host up to 12 weddings and fundraising events per month. In 2012, Green Oak Township officials said the entertainment venue had to close for repairs and demolish unsafe parts of the building. A 74-page inspection report from 2011 found the building dangerous and said it could not be occupied until extensive renovations were completed.

A new owner or tenant would have to address the code violations before operating a business at the site.
