Developed between 1906 and 1930, Pasadena’s picturesque Prospect Park district boasts such a bounty of pedigreed architecture, it’s impressive even for Pasadena. Beyond its historic arroyo-stone gates, you’ll find stately residences designed by Greene Greene; Frank Lloyd Wright; John Byers; Roland Coate; Reginald D. Johnson; Marston, Van Pelt Maybury; Myron Hunt; and Frederick Roehrig. Local boy Wallace Neff is especially well-represented, with seven houses to his credit, including this lovely Mediterranean on Prospect Terrace. Built in 1924 at a cost of $29,000, the half-acre property has three structures: a 4,438-square-foot main house with three bedrooms, five baths, beamed ceilings, hardwood and tile floors, numerous fireplaces, French windows, and arched doorways; a one-bedroom guesthouse with kitchen, full bath, and fireplace; and a “two car garage which is currently being used as an art studio.” Per the listing, “the grounds include award winning gardens, three outdoor living areas, pool, loggia, water fountain, fireplace and barbeque,” plus a “gated motor court with parking for three additional cars.” Last sold in 2010 for $3.07 million, it’s now asking $3.8 million.
