Moto G Forte with rugged Grip Shell listed on company’s site

Motorola finally took the wraps of its new Moto G variant, the Moto G
Forte
, in Mexico. The former Google-owned company has quietly listed the
new variant of the Moto G on its Mexico site. As of now, there is no word on the pricing and availability details
of the Moto G Forte.

Notably, the Moto G Forte comes with identical
specifications to the Moto G, except that the former packs a Motorola
rugged Grip Shell out-of-the-box. It’s worth pointing out that the Grip
Shell for Moto G is available as an accessory in the US at $19.99, and
in India at Rs. 999.

The
Motorola Moto G Forte runs Android 4.4 KitKat out-of-the-box. It
features a 4.5-inch HD ‘edge-to-edge’ (for a supposed better touch
experience) display with a resolution of 720×1280 pixels (translating to
a pixel density of 329ppi) and boasts a Corning Gorilla Glass 3
protection.

The Moto G Forte is powered by a quad-core 1.2GHz
Qualcomm Snapdragon 400 (Cortex-A7) processor coupled with an Adreno 305
GPU, though the company’s site has listed Moto G Forte with 1.2GHz
quad-core processor with no mention of the chipset.

The Moto G
Forte includes 1GB of RAM, like Moto G and comes with 8GB of inbuilt
storage. On the optics front, the Moto G sports a 5-megapixel rear
camera along with an LED flash and also includes a 1.3-megapixel
front-facing camera. The rear camera supports HD (720p) video recording.

The Moto G Forte packs a 2070mAh battery, which the official site claims can deliver up to 24 hours of mixed use.

Earlier,
Motorola launched the Moto G for the Indian market in February and after few weeks of the successful
launch of budget smartphone in the country; the company launched the Moto X.
