The York Galleria is for sale.

Dan Summerlin, director of corporate relations for mall owner CBL Associates, confirmed the Tennessee-based company listed the mall for sale, but he wouldn’t offer any other details.

“It’s our policy not to comment until a sale is final,” he said.

The commercial realty company also owns nearby York Town Center, which is not currently listed for sale.

No price is listed for the 765,000-square-foot Galleria at 2899 Whiteford Road in Springettsbury Township.

The York Galleria is 98 percent occupied, according to listings on commercial realty websites, and is anchored by Bon-Ton, Boscov’s, JCPenney and Sears.

Fashion retailer Rue21 this week announced it will open in the mall on April 3, and a Red Robin is slated to open outside the mall this fall.

The York Galleria was developed by Zamias Services Inc. and opened in 1989, growing to include about 100 stores.

CBL bought the mall for $69 million in July 1999.

The galleria is currently assessed at about $59 million, according to York County records.

Elsewhere: In September 2012, Texas investors who bought the West Manchester Mall paid about $2 million more than the assessed value.

Dallas-based MR Investors paid $17.5 million for the 742,000-square-foot retail hub. That was less than $24 per square foot at a mall with a 68 percent occupancy rate at the time of sale.

West Manchester Mall is slated for a $47 million redevelopment that owners said will be complete in time for the Christmas shopping season.
