Tribune Co., the parent company of the Baltimore Sun, is trying to sell the Bel Air building that houses the Aegis, a twice-weekly Harford County newspaper, as well as the former Patuxent Publishing Co. building in Columbia.
The Aegis building has been on the market for about two months. The Sun began trying to sell the Patuxent building nearly two years ago, but the company has since changed brokers.
The Patuxent building was represented by Cushman Wakefield of Maryland Inc. when it first went on sale. Now both the Aegis building and the Patuxent building are listed by Gail Chrzan of CBRE Inc.
A spokeswoman for The Sun could not be reached for comment. Sun parent company Tribune Co. is in the midst of a plan to separate its real estate holdings from its eight newspapers.
CBRE is marketing the 42,000-square-foot Aegis building at 10 Hays St. in Bel Air as “prime for redevelopment.” The Aegis staff is based out of the Baltimore Sun’s newsroom.
CBRE envisions the building being purchased by either a educational or governmental entity, or demolished to create multi-story office building.
The Patuxent Publishing building includes 29,400 square feet over two floors. Located at 10750 Little Patuxent Parkway in Columbia, the building sits on just over two acres and has 84 parking spaces.
Marketing materials do not include asking prices for either building.
