A weekend morning playing video games ended with a 14-year-old shooting his 13-year-old brother Saturday.
Carter County Sheriff’s Department responded to Herman Peters Road in Carter County Saturday after what they say was an accidental shooting.
“Had got it down, been messing with it, playing with it after watching a video game that involves fire arms, they got curious about the weapon, started handling it, the weapon accidentally discharged striking the 13-year-old in the neck.,” said Sgt. Shane Watson.
Wings flew the 13-year-old to Johnson City Medical Center, at last check he was in stable condition.
Deputies said when they arrived the 14-year-old was very scared and shaken up.
The deputies told News Channel 11 they don’t see this often but it is important to keep your guns locked up in a safe place out of reach of kids.
