THERE could be an intriguing sub-plot to Saturday’s Listed Cleves Stakes at Lingfield with siblings Ladies Are Forever and Hoof It both entered for the 6f sprint.
Geoff Oldroyd has confirmed Ladies Are Forever will run in the bookmakers.co.uk-backed race, and the six-year-old mare may meet her elder brother Hoof It, who is trained by Mick Easterby.
Oldroyd said: “I would be quite hopeful on Saturday, but it depends what turns up. It will be interesting to see if Hoof It runs, and I don’t think they have ever clashed.
“Reg [Bond, owner] bred them both and the mare had a full-sister to Ladies Are Forever this week and is off to Frankel next week, so it could be a big week for the family.”
It could be an interesting meeting for clockwatchers, with Ladies Are Forever [5f] one of three track record holders who could run. Stablemate Alfred Hutchinson [7f] is entered in a 7f handicap, while Tarooq [6f] is another possible for the Cleves Stakes.
