The XING EVENTS app connects attendees with matching events: In cooperation with Heidelberg Mobil and XING AG we are proud to introduce the first XING EVENTS app for Android smartphones.
Attendees receive personal recommendations from the app based on their profile and their network. Not only does the app offer more than 150.000 XING listed events but it also makes use of the well-established Social Graph of the network to enable targeted networking. Based on a Recommender System the app identifies and recommends user relevant information such as interesting events or contacts. Since January 2014 the application has been available for iOS and is now also available in the Android-app store.
Discover Exciting Events
The XING EVENTS app contains a list of all events including extensive event details. The Recommender System lets the app find events that match with the users profile information. To find out which event your personal XING contacts are attending you just use the filter. Furthermore you can search for specific criteria, such as location or date. The “I’m in” button allows users to display their attendance to their network and potential contacts.
Recognize common interests and socialize
By confirming event participation additional useful information will be made available, such as a list of all participating XING members. In addition the app also recommends contacts to you that are worth meeting. It would for example recognize that two users are former employees of one particular company or find other common denominators. Of course it also offers networking opportunities on XING and allows messaging a contact directly.
Manage appointments using the XING EVENTS app
The app displays remaining available places for particular events. In addition important dates can be exported directly to the smartphone calendar. Thus, the event will not be forgotten and is incorporated in to your personal planning.
