Doncaster Council has granted Listed Building Consent to provide energy efficiency improvement works to 30 properties in Woodlands.

The works are part of the Decent Homes programme which has seen other properties in the area upgraded.

These properties in Woodlands are Grade II Listed Buildings, for which consent is necessary.

The proposed works include the installation of combi-boiler heating systems, loft insulation, replacement of windows to timber frame double glazed, modern timber doors and internal works consisting of replacement kitchens, bathrooms and electrical rewiring of properties.

Councillor Eva Hughes, Vice Chair of Planning Committee, said: “The panel determined that the works will improve the living standards for residents without adversely affecting the architectural conservation area.”

The Deputy Mayor, Councillor Glyn Jones, Cabinet Member for Housing, said: “Reducing the cost of living for families is a top priority for Doncaster Council.

“These decency works at the Woodlands Model Village will bring properties up to modern standards, making them more energy efficient and cheaper to heat.”
