GREEN BAY, Wis. – Eight-year-old Colin Vanderschaaf had a day to remember at the Green Bay Titletown Swim Invitational from Jan. 17-19.

The YMCA of Marquette Killer Whales swimmer won all seven events he participated in and set four team records to capture the high point trophy for boys 8-and-under age group.

He set Killer Whales records in the 25-yard breaststroke in 20.90 seconds, 100 individual medley in 1:25.98, 25 freestyle in 14.81 and 25 butterfly in 17.60.

His other wins came in the 50 backstroke in 40.26 seconds, 50 free in 33.90 and 50 breast in 46.21.

Twin brother Carson Vanderschaaf was third in overall points as he also swam in seven events, picking up runner-up finishes in the 25 breast, 25 free, 25 back, 50 breast and 50 free, along with third places in the 100 IM and 25 fly.

Sam Williams, 15, was third in points for the 15-18 age group, winning the 200 breast in 2:27.42; finishing second in the 100 breast, 200 IM and 500 free; and adding top-five finishes in three other events.

Erin Vanderschaaf, 10, won a pair of events to place fourth in points in her age group, winning the 200 free in 2:30.68 and 100 back in 1:23.66. Tessa Meyer was second in the 11-12 girls 50 fly.

Delaney Marchiol, 9, made the state cut in the 9-10 girls 200 free in 2:40.30, while Hannah Bleckiner, 8, qualified for the state meet in the 50 back (45.69) by taking second.

On Jan. 10 at the Marquette Novice Meet, Erin Vanderschaaf qualified for the state championship in the 100 fly in 1:25.02 while also lowering her team record in the 400 IM in 6:03.90.
