Foothills home sells for $3.7M, highest listed sale since ’08

A luxury home in the Catalina Foothills has sold for $3.7 million, the highest closing price in the Tucson metro market in more than six years, according to Russ Lyon Sotheby’s International Realty, which represented the buyer and the seller.

The five-bedroom, seven-bathroom home, is located on 6.73 acres in a private development in the foothills, but the location and the buyer and seller were not disclosed. The sale included the adjacent parcel of land and closed jointly this month, Russ Lyon Sotheby’s said in a news release.

The realty firm cited statistics from the Tucson Association of Realtors Multiple Listing Service showing the sale price was the highest for a single family residence in the Tucson metro area since July 2008. The Tucson Association of Realtors could not immediately confirm that assertion.

Russ Lyon Sotheby’s Agent Nikki Halle, who led a team that handled the sale, said many luxury homes never show up in the Realtor’s Multiple Listing Service because they are custom-built.
