Since the arrival of Neymar at Barcelona, several young attackers have seen their time in the spotlight of the Nou Camp dry up.

One such youngster is forward Cristian Tello whom was once thought the next great thing from the Catalan giants.

Multiple media outlets have called for the Reds to be in-line to secure a loan deal for the 22-year-old forward as the club look to expand their attacking options beyond just the realm of Luis Suarez and Daniel Sturridge.

The summer arrival of Iago Aspas has not bore the fruit that was expected and Brendan Rodgers needs more depth in attack to be able to handle the rest of their fight for the Champions League and the potential additional schedule demands of the next campaign.

Tello has scored 17 goals in 69 appearances for the Catalan club in all competitions since he first broke into the first team in the 2011-12 campaign.

While the Reds are thought to be pursuing a loan deal, it is also believed that the club would prefer a permanent deal for the Blaugrana star in hopes of taking their opponents for the player, Valencia, out of the equation all together.
