A Red Honda NSX located in the United Kingdom is currently up for sale for $180,000 or best offer. Did the NSX bubble suddenly swell in the market overnight? No, but this particular Honda NSX once belonged to none other than legendary Formula 1 driver Ayrton Senna.
Those familiar with the history of NSX and of Ayrton Senna, one of the most successful McLaren F1 drivers of all time, will know that the Brazilian driver played a key role in developing Honda’s first high performance sports car.
According to the eBay ad listing, Senna has owned a total of 3 examples of the NSX. A black one remains at Senna’s home in Brazil, another has been purchased by a private owner, and this one remained with Honda Portugal of Quinta Do Lago, and is now listed for sale in East Sussex, England.
The model year 1991 red Honda NSX only has 30,000 miles on the odometer and looks to be in immaculate condition. For the fans of Triple world champion and for F1 fans in general, a chance to own one of the driver’s personal rides is like a dream come true.
The sellers note says, “I would like to say ‘never been thrashed or raced’, but I would be lying as you can see Senna spinning the wheels in the video Racing Is In My Blood. The car was requested specifically by Senna as a loaner when he was the reigning World champion in 1991 and 1992 when he stayed at his Home in the Portuguese region of the Algarve.”
