Proposals to create 47 homes at the site of an historic listed building off Westacott Way in Littlewick Green is due to go before councillors tonight.

A Maidenhead development control panel is set to discuss plans from Millgate Homes to convert the Grade II-listed Woolley Hall into six homes.

The proposals also include the conversion and extension of the site’s stables and gate lodge into homes, along with the construction of 29 new houses and six mew-style homes on the land.

Most of the new homes would be built in the northern part of the site, known as Woolley Grange.

The plans were recommended for refusal for reasons including the impact on the greenbelt, harm to a listed building, and potential harm to protected species.

Plans from the same developer to build 23 homes at Woodlands Park Industrial Estate are also set to be discussed.

The proposals included the demolition of buildings at the business park, in Woodlands Park Avenue, to create the homes.

The application is also recommended for refusal, with the impact on the greenbelt and a lack of affordable housing on offer among the reasons cited.

Other plans set for discussion include:

•  Proposals to demolish the Bridge House section of the Thames Riviera Hotel, in Bridge Road, and add a two-storey extension of the Guard House to create 12 additional guest rooms.

•  An outline application to build 14 apartments at the site of Maidenhead Tyres Exhausts, following the demolition of the existing building off Grenfell Road.

•  Outline plans to build 13 houses on land to the rear of house on Alwyn Road and St Mark’s Crescent.

•  The conversion of the first and second floors above Helen and Douglas House, in High Street, into four flats.

The meeting is to take place at Maidenhead Town Hall from 7pm.
