World-famous DJ George and his co-pilot Riot Paula return for a second year to bring in the New Year at The Louisiana. Expect Indie and alternative classics, party tunes and the latest indie hits. Department S presents Lost in Space @ The Lanes
The Lanes’ regular Saturday clubnight has gone all Lost in Space for this NYE, with a retro homage to all those Sci-Fi TV programmes and films from the 60s/70s/80s crossed with a BIG helping of glam. The bowling alley will be transformed into a space base for the night. As well as the usual Department S music mix of 60s garage beats, Mod, Northern Soul, Rock’n’Roll and indie anthems, courteously of John The Mod and guests, there will be some ace space sounds and glam grooves. See in 2014 at 28 The Promenade, Glos Road, in studio 54 style – with Jay Wilcox friends – a 7-piece band performing classic disco covers from the Studio 54 era. Think Chic, Sister Sledge, Gloria Gaynor, The Jackson 5 and more. Further classic vinyl disco boogie bomb sounds provided by DJs Michael Vinyl Waxmouse. Tremor Soundsystem Bass Jump present a New Years Eve Spectacular at Stokes Croft’s newest addition. Expect breaks, ghetto funk, glitch hop, drum bass, jungle, disco and house. The theme is as the title suggests and fancy dress is encouraged. Think Egyptians, Vikings, Dinosaurs, Cavemen, Time Lords. A huge time machine stage set being designed and built for this show. NYE Party @ Colston Hall
Colston Hall hosts a New Year’s Eve to remember, featuring performances from Bellowhead, Spiro and Brass Roots. Bellowhead are ‘the greatest live act in Britain’, according to Radio 2’s Simon Mayo. The multi-instrumentalist Radio 2 Folk Award-winners will perform twice, taking you into 2014 with a bang. The festivities continue throughout the Hall with pop-up performances filling every nook and cranny. Meanwhile, Bristol theatre pioneers MAYK turn The Lantern into The Blind Tiger – a 1920′s cabaret speakeasy featuring unique performances, late night DJs and vintage cocktails set in truly decadent surroundings. NYE Trinity Fundraiser @ Trinity Centre
Back again for another year of skanking shenanigans, the Trinity NYE features live performances from Bristol favourites Babyhead, Dr Meaker, Gypsy Unit and Adam Elemental with a host of other DJs. The Rin Tins will be hosting a 1920′s extravaganza to bring in 2014 with a party to remember at one of Gloucester Road’s best pubs.
