Macdonald Museum Hours

Lego Thursdays

Starts January 9, 3:30 – 4:30 pm, Bridgetown and Area Library

Join us every Thursday for Lego at the Library.  (Ages 3+. Children 5  and under must be accompanied by a caregiver.)

Actors Required

The Performing Arts Club for Children meets at Evergreen Theatre every Saturday afternoon for drama games, music, comedy, and more. Lions’ Tree Sale

Until December 24 Annapolis Royal Lions Club annual Christmas Tree Sales Project daily until December 24, or until trees last, at Annapolis Royal Home Hardware. Hours are Mon. to Sat., 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. and on Sun. from noon to 5 p.m. Proceeds go toward Lions’ Club charity activities.

 

GirlPower!

December 19 It’s GirlPower! On Thursday, Dec. 19 from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. at the Bridgetown and Area Library. Girls ages 10 to 15, come hang out together at the Library for games, crafts, chats, snacks and fun.

 

Girl Power!

Christmas Open House

December 20 from 4 pm to 7 pm at the Delap House at 446 St George Street in Annapolis Royal. Come to sample tasty treats by Nona’s Preserves, such as special Christmas drink, cheeses and crackers along with hot pepper jellies, spiced cranberry relish, sweet pickle chunks and dilled carrots, thumbprint cookies filled with orange chocolate port jelly, and tiny cheesecake bites with assorted jam for toppings. Christmas music performed on a Broadwood cottage grand piano.

 

Christmas Play: Casting Call

December 21 22, 7 p.m. Parkers Cove Baptist Church on Parker Mountain Road

A humourous, touching and reflective, dramatic and musical presentation celebrating the meaning of Christmas, as discovered through the characters auditioning for a role in a Living Nativity.  Free admission.

 

Song Service

December 22 Searching for the King at Lawrencetown United Baptist Church. A service of contemporary song with the L.U.B.C. praise band. Starts as 7:00 p.m. A time of fellowship and light refreshments will follow.

Christmas Eve Breakfast

December 24 At the Lions Club in Kingston from 6:30 to 11 a.m. Enjoy a complete breakfast of scrambled eggs, sausage, hash browns, pancakes and toast. Free will offering.

 

Christmas Eve Service

December 24 Christmas Eve service starts at 6:30 p.m. at the Clarence Baptist Church, with Rev. George Mollins. All welcome.

 

Candlelight Christmas Eve

December 24 Enjoy an Old Fashioned Candlelight Christmas Eve Service at 7 p.m. at Historic Goat Island Church at 2340 Highway 1 in Upper Clements. Rev. Nathan Waterman officiating. Bring a small flashlight. There will be heat. Everyone is welcome. For information call 638-3175.

 

Family Christmas Dinner

December 25 This Christmas, there is no need for anyone to be alone. We extend an invitation to the community to enjoy a family dinner with us this Christmas at the First United Baptist Church in Annapolis Royal at 12 p.m. If you are able, leave a message at 532-2134 to let us know how many will come with you so that we have enough for everyone.

Grad Games

December 26 Middleton and District Arena will once again ring out with the sounds of cheering and playful jeering for the annual grad hockey games. Schedule: 5:15 – Grads of ‘97 to ‘03 vs. Grads of ‘04 to ’09; 6:20 – present day Monarch Girls against the Monarch Girl Grads;

7:25 – present day Monarchs vs. Grads of ‘10 to ‘13; 8:30 – present day Monarchs vs. Grads of 1950-96.

 

New Year’s Eve

December 31 Ring in the new year with our free festivities starting at 6 p.m. at Credit Union Centre in Kingston, (arena). Bring your skates. Enjoy a sleigh ride, live entertainment, Jimmie Dogs, chili, cider, hot chocolate. Also face painting, balloon animals, and popcorn. Kids can be fingerprinted.
