EUGENE, Ore. – First Coos Bay, then North Bend announced school closures Thursday night, not wanting to deal with forecast snow and ice on Friday.
As western Oregon woke up to snow, the closures kept on coming: schools, park districts and other organizations canceled programs as a winter storm turned an already record-cold fall white.
Many schools and organizations use the FlashAlert system, which automatically notifies the public via member media organizations.
Many private schools relied on email to get the word out. Here are a few of the closures possibly not listed on our closure list.
ATTENTION: While we’ve tried to incorporate cancellations and closures that have been sent to us via e-mail, Facebook, phone, etc. THIS IS NOT a complete list of closures. We advise that you still call before venturing out to an event.
