The campaign-turned-political arm of President Obama is calling on individuals to mark the Dec. 14 anniversary of the Sandy Hook Elementary School shootings by hosting local events to lobby for gun control.
A page set up to organize events on OFA’s website says that supporters and partner organizations will gather across the country to remember the victims and renew calls for Congressional action on gun policy. OFA says it will contact individuals who complete the form with details about the organization’s Gun Violence Prevention campaign “and provide training, tools, and information to make your event on December 14th a success.”
“It has been one year since the tragic events in Newtown, Connecticut, where 26 Americans lost their lives to gun violence. Despite overwhelming public support for expanding background checks for gun sales, Congress has failed to act,” an event description on the website reads. “Join local supporters as we remember Newtown and ask Congress: What will it take to make our communities safer?”
OFA listed #WeAreNewtown as the hashtag associated with the drive.
Earlier in the day, TIME’s Zeke Miller tweeted a more apolitical letter he received about the effort:

The initiative from OFA follows its “Health Care for the Holidays” push: a packet of materials to prep the hopelessly bored and brainwashed for The Talk with their families about the greatness of Obamacare.
