Christmas is fast approaching and there’s plenty going on in the Grimsby area to get you in the festive spirit.
Below you’ll find listings of various events including fairs, markets, concerts and pantos which are taking place in the area over the next few weeks.

November 28
A Christmas market is being held at Holton-le-Clay Junior School on Thursday, November 28.
All are welcome to attend the night, which starts at 3.30pm and finishes at 5.50pm.
There will be a variety of stalls, ranging from crafts to jewellery and refreshments.
Entry is free, and the school is located in Picksley Crescent.
November 29
The village of Grasby is hosting its annual village fair on Friday, November 29. It is being held at Grasby Village Hall from 6pm, featuring stalls, a raffle and tombola.
You can also indulge yourself on a mince pie or two, and some mulled wine. And, of course, Father Christmas will be paying a visit.
Get in the festive mood in Ulceby with the Christmas Fair on Friday, November 29.
Ulceby Village Hall is hosting the annual event from 6.30pm.
Santa Claus will be attending and there will be plenty of festive stalls, a raffle and refreshments.
If you’re heading to Cleethorpes on Friday, November 29 for the official switching on of the festive lights don’t miss the Christmas Fair at St Peter’s School.
There will be lots of stalls and lots of fun. Proceeds are in aid of Saint Peter’s Church A-mend Repair and Restoration Fund.
The fair runs from 4.30pm to 7pm.
November 30
The Cleethorpes and Grimsby Royal Navy Association is holding a Christmas-themed table-top sale on Saturday, November 30.
People are invited to bring any items they wish to sell that would be suitable as gifts.
Entrance costs 20p and it is £2.50 for a stall, hot mince pies and drinks will also be on offer.
The sale takes place at the club, which is based in Alexandra Road, Cleethorpes, beginning at 9pm and ending at midnight.
An annual seasonal coffee morning will be held in the Conoco Rooms at Louth Library on Saturday, November 30.
There will be a raffle, a craft sale, Christmas cakes, a tombola and bric-a-brac.
Organised by St Michael’s Church, the coffee morning will start at 10am.
Keelby WI’s Christmas Market is being held on Saturday, November 30 at Keelby Village Hall, in King Street, Keelby, between noon and 4pm.
There will be a wide variety of stalls and there will also be refreshments.
Entry is free.
Father Christmas is paying a visit to St Mark’s Church, in Laceby Road, Grimsby.
The church is hosting its Christmas Fair on Saturday, November 30 from 2pm, featuring the usual entertainment including books, cakes, refreshments, a raffle, toys and a new stall. Admission is 20p.
Waltham’s All Saints’ Church will be celebrating on Saturday, November 30 between 2pm and 4.30pm.
The event, called A Christmas Cracker, will include all the usual stalls, games, cakes and festive refreshments as well as an appearance from Santa.
Entertainment will be provided from local school pupils and the All Saints’ Church Choir.
There will also be a grand Christmas raffle.
Keelby Women’s Institute is hosting its Christmas Market on Saturday, November 30.
It will take place at the village hall, in King Street, from noon to 4pm. There will be a wide variety of stalls and refreshments available. Entry is free.
A Christmas Fair is taking place at St Michael’s Church, in Great Coates Road, Grimsby.
It will be held on Saturday, November 30 from 2pm.
There will be a Christmas wonderland of toys, gifts, a raffle, games, a visit from Father Christmas, and refreshments.
A Christmas fair is being held at St Christopher’s Methodist Church, Grimsby on Saturday, November 30.
There will be festive treats, cakes, stalls, games and refreshments between 2pm and 3.30pm on at the church on the corner of Welholme Road and Convamore Road. All are welcome.
Waltham Windmill is getting into the festive spirit with Christmas Markets on various dates.
They are on the following dates: Saturday, November 30 to Sunday, December 1, Saturday, December 7 to Sunday, December 8, Saturday, December 14 to Sunday, December 15 and Saturday, December 21 to Sunday, December 22. Father Christmas will also make a visit at the Windmill in his grotto on Saturday, December 7. Meet him from 10am to 2pm.
Also in aid of the up-keep of the Windmill there is a table top sale at St Giles Church, Scartho, Saturday, December 14 at 9am.
Caistor Parish Church is hosting its Christmas fair on Saturday, November 30.
It is being held at Caistor Town Hall from 10am to 1pm, featuring stalls, gifts, games, cakes and breakfasts.
Local group Synergy will play host to a Community Christmas Market at Cleethorpes’ Pleasure Island on Saturday, November 30 and Sunday, December 1.
The market will showcase more than 40 indoor Christmas stalls, including independent craft stalls by local traders.

Louth Christmas Craft Market will feature over 100 stalls full of gift ideas alongside all the local independent retailers.
The market will take place on Sunday, December 1 from 10am – 4pm with a day full of festive family entertainment and an opportunity to meet Father Christmas.
December 2
The Duckegg Theatre Company is bringing a fresh, action-packed musical version of JM Barrie’s Peter Pan to The Ropewalk in Barton.
Ticket prices are £8 and £6 concessions. The show runs from Monday, December 2 to Saturday, December 7 and Saturday, December 16, to Thursday, December 21. It starts at 7pm (with 2pm matinee on the Saturdays) and tickets can be purchased from the Ropewalk box office on 01652 660380.

December 3
Middlethorpe Primary Academy in Cleethorpes will hold its Christmas fair on Tuesday, December 3, at 3.45pm. Free entry.
December 4
It’s panto time in Caistor and this year’s choice by the hugely popular Caistor Amateur Theatrical Society (CATS) is Snow White And The Seven Dwarfs.
One of the best pantomimes for children, the cast features youngsters of all ages.
Snow White And The Seven Dwarfs is on stage in the Town Hall from Wednesday, December 4 to Saturday, December 7 at 7.30pm nightly, with a matinee on the Saturday at 2pm.

December 5
Everyone is welcome to a celebration organised by Churches Together.
A blessing of a crib and carols will be held in Freshney Place, Grimsby, on Thursday, December 5, from 5pm, featuring children from St Mary’s Catholic Primary Academy.
December 6
Louth Playgoers’ pantomime Sleeping Beauty is running from Friday, December 6, to Saturday, December 14, weekdays at 7.30pm and weekends 1pm and 6pm. There are no performances on Monday and Tuesday.
It is £9 for adults and £5 for under 18s.

Fulstow Village Hall is hosting a performance of The Mice Who Ate Christmas, on Friday, December 6.
The festive family show is being staged by the Bad Apple Theatre group.
Tickets are priced £8 for adults and £2 for accompanied children, or £15 for families.

Vocalist Becky Bennett will be performing at the Immingham Golf Club Christmas party night on Friday, December 6.
As well as a number of festive songs, Becky will be performing a varied set with songs by big artists, including Doris Day, Emili Sande, Tina Turner, Amy Winehouse, Paloma Faith, Norah Jones, Katy Perry, The Beatles and more.
Tickets are priced £16.95, which includes a hot Christmas buffet, entertainment and lots of festive fun. The doors open at 7pm, with the event continuing until late.

December 7
A Christmas coffee morning will be held at St Andrew’s Methodist Church, in St Peter’s Avenue, Cleethorpes, on Saturday, December 7.
It takes place between 10am and 11.30am, and includes books, jigsaws, a Christmas stall, coffee, tea and biscuits, mince pies and toasted teacakes.
Admission is free.
Enjoy traditional tunes with Grimsby And Cleethorpes Ladies Choir on Saturday, December 7, at Grimsby Central Hall.
The group will be joined by internationally renowned The Bolsterstone Male Voice Choir. The male choir has travelled abroad extensively and they have won many awards for singing.

If you want to hear some popular festive music, get along to Christmas With Grimsby And Cleethorpes Ladies Choir at Grimsby Central Hall. The concert takes place on Saturday, December 7 at 7.30pm and will feature guests Balsterstone Male Voice Choir.
December 8
The annual St Andrew’s Hospice Santa’s On The Run event takes place on Sunday, December 8. It is a Santa-themed family fun run from the hospice car park at 2pm.
The route takes in Weelsby Road and Weelsby Woods and all participants receive a Santa suit and medal at the finish.
There will also be a Santa’s Grotto with a gift for all child participants. It takes place from 2pm to 4pm.
A Christmas tree festival is being held at St Bartholomew’s Church, in Keelby, featuring trees decorated by Keelby businesses and organisations.
The event runs from 1pm to 4pm on Sunday, December 8.
There will be a donation box at the church where donations of cat food will be gratefully received and passed on to Second Chance Cat Rescue. Admission is free.
December 13
Grimsby’s very own star Julie Peasgood will be starring in the Grimsby Auditorium’s panto Sleeping Beauty.
The production is being brought to the town by one of the country’s top pantomime producers, Imagine Theatre, with a script written by the BAFTA Award-winning writing team of Iain Lauchlan and Will Brenton.
It runs from Friday, December 13 to Sunday, December 29 and tickets are £11.90 to £14.90.
December 14
A Christmas food and gift fair will take place in Caistor on Saturday, December 14.
It will be held in the Market Place and Town Hall from 10am to 4pm. Father Christmas will visit the Arts And Heritage Centre from 11am to 12.30pm.
A crib blessing and carols will take place on Saturday, December 14, from 11am in St Peter’s Church, Cleethorpes.
The crib will be placed in the window of Robinson’s Interiors, opposite the church.
December 19
Take time to consider the true meaning of Christmas at a carols by candlelight event in Irby.
The service will take place at St Andrew’s Church, on Thursday, December 19, from 7.30pm. There will be carols and readings followed by mince pies and coffee in the church hall.
