The Terrebonne Fine Arts Guild’s annual Christmas Show and Sale has begun. This exhibit includes a variety of small paintings in all subjects, styles and media. Artist prints, note cards, handmade jewelry and selected crafts such as stained-glass objects are also on display. The gallery’s regular exhibit features more than 100 paintings of local scenery, still life and floral subjects if you are looking for a larger piece of original local art.

Christmas time
Christmasfest, Thibodaux’s annual event features a Christmas parade, pictures with Santa and Mrs. Claus, refreshments, snow and the lighting of a 160-year-old mansion at the Dansereau House.

Parade time
Once Upon a Cajun Christmas Parade, sponsored by Terrebonne Parish Consolidated Government, features “Papa Noel” arriving in a 20-float Christmas parade that begins at Terrebonne High School and travels down Main Street to Barrow and then turns on School Street where it ends behind the Courthouse Square. The event will feature caroling and the lighting of the Christmas tree.

Enjoy pancakes with Santa
The 24th annual Breakfast with Santa sponsored by the Kiwanis Club of Houma includes all-you-can-eat pancakes, sausage, coffee, milk and juice. Photos with Santa and face painting are also available.

Lockport Christmas
The 22nd annual Lockport Christmas parade includes a procession through the city’s streets. A tree lighting is set for the night before at Bayouside Park where Santa will hand out toys to children. The Central Lafourche High School band will perform a Christmas concert, and refreshments will be served by the Knights of Columbus.

Christmas tunes
The Houma-Terrebonne Community Band is set to perform its annual Christmas concert at . Organizers said the community band will perform some holiday favorites like “White Christmas,” “Silent Night,” “Have Yourself a Merry Little Christmas” among others. The Houma-Terrebonne Community Band, who has a concert band and a stage band, performs regular concerts throughout Terrebonne Parish, including an anniversary concert, a spring concert, patriotic concerts and Christmas concerts.

Parading down a bayou
The Bayou Terrebonne Christmas boat parade travels down Bayou Terrebonne near the Bourg Volunteer Fire Department, 4402 La. 24, and ends in Montegut, three miles past Sacred Heart Catholic Church, 1111 La. 55. The parade includes between 15 and 20 boats decorated with Christmas lights with Santa.
