Class explains fall prevention
Falls and injuries can change elders’ lives. Learn about ways to prevent falls in the first place, decrease risk and some exercises that help strengthen certain muscles that support sitting upright at 1 p.m. Monday Nov. 18.

Make rocks for your grandkids
Create a “treasure rock” at 4:30 p.m. Thursday Nov. 21. With a few simple ingredients and some tiny plastic animals, you can make about eight rocks.
Once the rocks dry, your grandchild can find a treasure inside. Call to sign up. Cost is $10 per batch.
History presentation
Costumed staff, artifacts and technology linked to Joseph Nicollet will be presented at 6:30 p.m. Thursday Nov. 21. Nicollet is famous for his map of the Upper Mississippi River Basin, created in the early 19th century.
The program is presented through a grant given by the Red Wing Shoe Foundation to the Minnesota History Center. Please sign up by Tuesday Nov. 19.

• NAPS: Nutrition Assistance Program for Seniors will be available 10 to 10:45 a.m. Tuesday Nov. 19. Women and men 60 years of age or older who live in Minnesota and meet income guidelines may be eligible to receive a monthly food package.

Help out making cards
The craft group meets at 1 p.m. Wednesdays to make recycled greeting cards. Donations of old greeting cards and volunteers to assemble them are welcomed. Recycled cards are for sale from 11 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. every day at the Jordan Tower II Sailstad Room.
Diabetes group meets
The diabetes support group will meet at 4:30 p.m. Tuesday Nov. 19 in the café at Jordan Towers. The service is offered by St. Brigid’s Hi-Park volunteers.
