November is here, which means the holidays – and pumpkin pie – are upon us. But, beyond your own holiday party, there’s plenty to do in the North County this month.

From fall festivals to street fairs, grab the family for a festive outing this month. You’ll find tons of options listed on Yelp’s event page but for now, here are a few ideas.

Oceanside Heritage Park Fall Festival: Saturday, Nov. 9 (12 p.m. to 4 p.m.)
It’s a day of family-friendly fun featuring children’s games, a chili cook-off and music. Sponsored and benefiting the City of Oceanside, Parks and Recreation and Friends of Oceanside Parks, admission to this festival is free, while game tickets and food will be available for purchase. Heritage Park will be bursting with autumn fun for locals of all ages.

Del Mar Antique Show: Friday-Sunday, Nov. 15-17 (11 a.m. to 7 p.m. Fri. and Sat., 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. Sun.)
That perfect, vintage Thanksgiving turkey platter awaits! This annual antiques show is stuffed with “everything from Tiffany to tin,” so shoppers are sure to find a future family heirloom or a blast from the past while digging through the more than 250 premier antique dealers. Tickets are only $8, and single admission charge is valid for all three days of the event.

Coastal Hike Yoga on the Beach: Saturday, Nov. 23 (8:30 a.m.)
Get centered before you feast with a refreshing coastal jaunt in Del Mar and some downward facing dog on the sand. Register with instructor Susan McCrea by emailing sdrvc@sdrvc.org (Subject: Yoga), and don’t forget to bring your own mat. The level of instruction will be mixed, newbies to intermediate levels with enough to please those more advanced yogis as well.

Encinitas Fall Festival: Sunday, Nov. 24 (9 a.m. to 4 p.m.)
One of the season’s biggest festivals featuring 450 booths, two live music stages and 40,000 to 50,000 visitors. The 23rd annual Encinitas Fall Festival, sponsored by Tri-City Medical Center, features several new additions this year: a dedicated Kids Zone, bike valet stations and a dog park. Take the Coaster train and you’ll get off right in the middle of the action.

O’side Turkey Trot: Thursday, Nov. 28 (first wave starts at 8:25 a.m.)
The O’side Turkey Trot is a Southern California tradition. “Move your feet before you eat” and register for this family-friendly 5-mile, 5K and combo run. You’ll feel so much better about that second slice of pie on Thanksgiving if you do. There’s a special run route for kids too, not to mention costume contests, entertainment and a special finisher medal for every participant.
