SIKESTON — After just three years, the Ferrell Fall Classic is listed as a top-10 event.

The Team Roping event started as some “backyard roping,” said the event’s organizer, Ty Ferrell. “Each year I tried to make it a little different, make it better. This will be the fourth year. It has kind of grown to be a fairly sizable event. Last year we had right at 800 teams.”

There were probably around 300 participants as each cowboy can compete on several two-man teams, Ferrell explained: “There are different divisions — people can enter more than one event.”
