Pugin Hall was designed by the Victorian architect Augustus Pugin, who also worked on the Houses of Parliament and Southwark Cathedral, amongst other important British landmarks. The Hall was built in 1847 and is a highly influential example of one of Pugin’s smaller country houses. The house is Grade I listed, and recent works undertaken by the owners have resulted in a brilliant fusion of period and modern country house life.
The characteristic plan of the house consists of an arrangement of rooms with axes which rotate about a central hall. Many fine architectural features remain including an original chimney piece, the main staircase and a good number of original doors and fireplaces.
All principal rooms are spacious and well proportioned, while the principal bedrooms on the first floor feature the master bedroom suite and three further bedrooms, plus a stylish bathroom in the chapel room. The second floor offers a further bedroom, kitchenette, playroom, shower room, two bedrooms and a bathroom.
Accommodation in full comprises: porch, reception hall, drawing room, dining room, sitting room, rear hall, kitchen/breakfast room, study, utility room, boot room, laundry, master bedroom suite and seven further bedrooms, three further bathrooms and a playroom.

Outside is a detached former coach house which now comprises gym, office and three useful store rooms; behind here is the hopper and ramp which feeds the woodchip heating system. Parts of the gardens have been landscaped to include a paved terrace with steps down to a walled kitchen garden, while another section has been planted as an orchard leading down to a stream beyond which is the wildlife garden. The grounds come to around 3.5 acres.
Pugin Hall sits on the edge of the village of Rampisham which is close to Cattistock in west Dorset, and just over six miles from Beaminster which has excellent local facilities.
