Musicians line up alongside Cara Delevigne and ‘Les Misérables’ actress Samantha Barks on Evening Standard poll

Disclosure and King Krule are among the musicians who appear on a new list of the 25 most influential Londoners aged 25 and under.
Brothers Guy and Howard Lawrence, aged 19 and 22 respectively, topped the UK’s Official Albums Chart with their debut LP ‘Settle’ this year while King Krule, real name Archy Marshall, 19, has recently released his debut album ‘6 Feet’ on XL Recordings. They both feature on the Evening Standard‘s ‘Generation Next’ list alongside female-fronted band Findlay, soul singer Fabienne and Boiler Room DJ Nick Tasker.
The list claims to highlight “the talent, determination, and creativity that make London one of the world’s greatest cities”. Other names on the list include model Cara Delevigne and Les Misérables actress Samantha Barks – as well as computer coder Anne-Marie Imafidon, app developer Sumner Murphy, Government Digital Service adviser Jordan Hatch and Gabrielle Turnquest, the youngest person ever to become a barrister at 18.
The list of 25 under-25s is announced in advance of this year’s Power 1000, a list of London’s most powerful people. The Power 1000 will be released in full on 19 September.
Meanwhile, Disclosure’s debut album ‘Settle’ has picked up a nomination for this year’s Mercury Prize, but the London duo have told NME they are backing David Bowie to take home the award on October 30 for his comeback effort ‘The Next Day’.
