The Bordercity Band plays a matinee at the Roosevelt Hotel, 306 Korah Rd., from 4 to 8 p.m.

The Royal Canadian Legion Band plays the Summer Concert Series at the Roberta Bondar Pavilion starting at 7 p.m.

Zak’s All Stars perform at Quattro in the Comfort Suites, 229 Great Northern Rd., starting at 8 p.m.

Sault illusionist Ryan McFarling present The Placebo Effect at the Grand Theatre. Doors open at 8 p.m. Show time is 9 p.m. Tickets can be purchased at www.ryanmcfarling.com

Obsession plays the Esquire Club, 102 Second Line West, from 9:30 p.m. until 1:30 a.m.

Sault Ste. Marie Horticultural Society Summer Flower and Vegetable Show at the Station Mall Sears Court: Entries submitted from 7:30-9:30 a.m. Public viewing and voting for People’s Choice Award from noon to 4 p.m. Non members design category is ‘Eek! – a Halloween design. The Kensington Conservancy, East Algoma Stewardship Council, Clean North, Central Algoma Freshwater Coalition, and Sault Ste. Marie Innovation Centre will be holding their fifth annual Green Expo: Natural Adventures to be held in Desbarats, Ontario from 9 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. The annual event hosts a morning local pancake breakfast, local food and product exhibits, presentations, workshop sessions, interactive activities for children and families, green vendors, and Johnson’s Farmer Market Desbarats. All events are open to the general public. For more information, call the Kensington Conservancy at 705-782-2200.

The Art Gallery of Algoma presents their 24th Annual Garden Tour. For $20, visit five exciting gardens from 10 a.m. until 4 p.m. A luncheon will be held from 11:30 a.m. until 1:30 p.m. and will include a salad bar, a choice of dessert, and tea or coffee. Tickets are available at The Gallery Shop. For more information call The Gallery Shop at 705-949-9067 ext. 106.

St. Baldrick’s 2nd annual Head Shaving Event at 7:30 p.m at the Royal Canadian Legion. St. Baldrick’s is the largest volunteer-driven organization of childhood cancer research and all proceeds support childhood cancer research. Donations are appreciated. ~ SUNDAY, JULY 28, 2013 ~

One Night for You: This Italian – Canadian festival will provide delicious foods like ravioli, porketta, pizza and sausage (Catered by Primavera Banquet Hall). Admission is $5 (Kids are free). Proceeds from this event go toward Arch Hospice. The event runs from 1 p.m. until midnight at the Bondar Pavilion. Italian and Canadian entertainment from Fabio Trioli from Italy, Luigi Scanga and Jessica from Toronto, and Northern Ontario Bands Frankly Speaking and Coverfly. A special guest appearance from accordion player Nino DiPasquo. Tickets are available by calling the Primavera at 705-949-7227.

Algoma Music Camp presents Trés Chic a trio, Vanessa Mio (violin), Claire Burrows (cello), and Rachelle Risling (piano). Admission is $15. The event will be held at Algoma Music Camp located at 1249 F G Line in Richards Landing on St. Joseph Island. For more information, please call 705-246-7434.

The annual Teddy Bear Picnic will be held from 1 until 3 p.m. at the St. Joseph Island Museum, on the corner of the 20th Side Road and the I Line. Activities include old fashioned games, such as tug of war, checkers, a fish pond, and races. Bring a picnic for under the big tent and a teddy bear to show off in the Teddy Bear Parade at 2 p.m. There will be prizes for special bears. Admission to the picnic is by donation or free if you bring a bear or wear a vintage or fancy hat such as a derby, bowler, church, garden, decorative or top hat. Beverages and snacks will be available for purchasing throughout the day.
