Mark Elliot, yacht consultant and charter agent at International Yacht Collection (IYC) recently shared with SuperyachtNews that “summer is in full swing here at IYC and we have great expectations for more yacht sales than in the past several years.” A sentiment echoed by other brokers as we’re finally seeing fewer price reductions and a steady stream of sales since the start of the year. “Luxury product sales, including jets, yachts, real estate, and more, are increasing” Elliot continues “surely, the health of the U.S. stock market is leaving buyers feeling more comfortable about large yacht purchases. While I believe we will continue in a buyers’ market for another year or so as inventory adjusts, I do think we are near or at bottom pricing.”
The week running 16-22 July saw four sales completed, 12 new central agencies announced, and two price reductions made.
Superyacht Sales
The largest sale completed this week was 35.1m Aime Sea, completed by Alloy Yachts in 1994. Simon Goldsworthy of Camper Nicholsons completed the sale at an asking price of €3,750,000 in this in-house deal.
Another sale from Camper Nicholsons this week with Andrew LeBuhn selling 33.83m 2008 All Ocean Yachts Inace Yachts built Fortrus. Listed at $9,750,000, Blue Water Yachting introduced the buyer in the transaction.
