Everton’s pursuit of Spartak Moscow winger Aiden McGeady has been given a boost after he was placed on the transfer list.
McGeady has made clear his desire to leave the Russian outfit and pursue a career In Premier League, recently refusing to sign a new contract.
Roberto Martinez has made the Republic of Ireland international a top target as he continues to try and bolster his squad at Goodison Park.
The former Celtic man is out of contract next year and Spartak will be looking to move him on this summer to ensure they get value for money.
Martinez has already been quick to try and wrap up his business in the transfer window by drafting in Arouna Kone, Joel Robles and Antolin Alcaraz on permanent deals, as well as picking up Gerard Deulofeu on loan from Barcelona.
McGeady has previously said: “I have ambitions to play in England and have made it clear I won’t be signing a new contract.”
