A two bedroom semi-detached home in Ponsonby has sold for nearly $1 million.

It has a capital value of $570,000, no available parking and one bathroom.
The 19 Lincoln St duplex was built in 1910, and according to qv.co.nz had a land area of 435m2.
Chris Batchelor from Barfoot and Thompson Ponsonby looked after the listing and told Fairfax that it was “a pretty big price” and “everyone was surprised”.
“But that is what happens when you get people in the auction room. The value was there. CV doesn’t factor in emotion,” he said.
Mr Batchelor said interior renovations had helped push the price up, and said they had received a pre-auction offer of $800,000 just days after the property was listed on the market.

Facebook user Chase Koolen was the only person to comment that the price was “great”.
The average sale price in Auckland rose 0.8% to $649,945 last month, adding to a 0.3% gain in May, Barfoot and Thompson said. The median price rose 3.5% to $590,000, the firm said.
The city’s biggest realtor sold 1059 houses in June, down from 1284 properties in May.
