A few tasty events happening this weekend, starting with another event run by Hope which will make you feel good about going out and larging it as the proceeds go toward Pieta House and Suicide Support.
Seb Fontaine makes an appearance for the Hope crew along side Dean Sherry, DJ Zoe (RTE Pulse) and Aaron Nolan.
It all takes place at The Academy on Middle Abbey St in Dublin tonight. Doors are at 11pm.
Also tonight the boys at Electric Ballroom bring you Dale Howard, who although sounding as if he is a boy band sensation, is in fact an up and coming house sensation.
The boys give him his Irish debut tonight in the basement of Lost Society with support from the Electric Ballroom DJs.
Doors open at 10.30pm and admission is a mere tenner.
If you wish to take a little disco nap then maybe Saturday is the time to do it as come Sunday, Sonny Fodera from Defected Records rolls into town courtesy of the Rotate boys at Sin Nightclub.
Kicking off at 11pm at the Sycamore St (Temple Bar) venue.
Fodera is currently riding high with his mix of Harrison Crump’s No More Lies and this will be a good opportunity to see the man in a more intimate venue.
Support is from Sean Sutcliffe and Jonathan Kiely and admission is a keen tenner.
There is also a pre party taking place at Karma Stone (corner of Wexford St and Kevin St) from 3pm with the DJs listed above (bar Fodera!) and Al Byrne, Eric Maher, Danny Finnegan, Wayne Bowers (Dane?? No Wayne!) and Dan Kearney.
Don’t get too messy as the big gig is later!
A big groove this week is Martin Thomas’ – Outta My Head on the wonderful Soul City Digital label.
Funky keys, bumpin bassline and jackin beats are the order of the day on this one and it’ll fit your ipod or DJ set perfectly.
You can grab it right here.
My good pal John Donoghue AKA Effluxion finally drops his massive Blue Room track that we have been playing since November last year on Manchester’s Sequential Records.
Big Deep House action on this one – with the 909 massive bump and a hooky key riff, I remember dropping this live on occasion and it smashed the place to bits.
You can now grab it and work your own dancefloor destruction with the full remix package right here.
