Speaking with Sean Doyle, now of Northrop Johnson, following the sale of 62.5m Maidelle last week, he shared with SuperyachtNews.com that it was “an interesting sale crossing many continents.” A rising theme brokers are seeing is the emergence of new owners from the BRIC nations, and Doyle confirms “the owners were in Asia, with their trade-ins to go to the Mediterranean. A lot of different time zones and different logistics to co-ordinate but everyone is very happy with the result”. As for the market on the whole, Doyle believes “the US market is very strong and the Asian market continues to grow and expand”.

The week running 3 – 10 June saw four sales completed, eight new central agencies announced, nine price reductions made and one yacht withdrawn from the market.
