  • Over 70 Small and Medium Capitalisation companies listed on the Spanish stock exchange and more than 200 institutional investors will participate during two days in the 9th MEDCAP Forum of Small and Medium Capitalisation companies, which BME will host in the Madrid Stock Exchange, starting tomorrow, 29 May.

    Iñigo Fernández de Mesa, Secretary General of the Treasury and Antonio Zoido, Chairman of BME, will welcome participants during the opening session. Luis Valero Artola, Secretary General of Industry for Small and Medium Enterprises will close the Forum.

    The main objectives of the Forum are to enhance the liquidity and financing potential of these companies and to allow investors, in particular non-residents, to gain first-hand knowledge from a set of companies that over the last few years have proved that their efforts and internationalisation strategies have been successful.

    Among the attendees that will take part in the panels will be Antonio Hernández Callejas, Chairman of Ebro Foods; Millán Álvarez Miranda, CEO of Adveo, José Miguel García, CEO of Jazztel, Gloria Hernández, CFO of Bankinter, Rafael de Mena, CFO of Banco Popular and Miguel Paradinas, Managing Director of Técnicas Reunidas. In addition, otherfinancial directors and IR heads representing their companies will take part in the one-to-one meetings that will be held during the event.

    Non-resident investors seem to be keen on increasing their knowledge of these companies and have shown more interest in taking part in this Forum than in previous gatherings, with attendance up 30% on the previous year.

    The programme combines roundtables on such different sectors as technology and telecommunications, financial sector and investment services, pharmaceutical and biotech industry and such topical themes as successful internationalisation strategies, competitive advantages of Spanish companies abroad, the contribution of managers of Small Caps in the selection of stocks and reinforced companies in times of crisis”, among others.

    This year, for the third consecutive year, the second session of the Forum will be devoted to companies listed on MAB, most of which will be represented by their highest-ranking representatives.
