The Dallas-area is on a list of the country’s fastest moving residential sales markets.
Redfin.com looked at cities where homes sell the fastest. And the Dallas area ranked 17th out of the 22 markets on that list.
Almost a third of Dallas-area homes that sold in April went under contract within two weeks of coming on the market, according to the Seattle-based Internet real estate firm. And about 21 percent of the Dallas-area homes that hit the market had a buyer in one week.
Redfin estimates that 170 Dallas-area houses had a buyer within 24 hours.
“The percentages of homes under contract in two weeks and in one week both set new records since at least January 2011, when Redfin began tracking this data,” the report said.
The fastest moving U.S. housing market last month was San Jose, Calif., where 65 percent of houses were under contract in just two weeks.
